Besides seeing 12 Tractor Trailers in the Ditch whiles driving on Hwy# 401 east going Montreal, QC on Tuesday. I also noticed a few swearving in and out lanes that night. After seeing this video and a driver parked beside me at a Petro Pass Truck stop in Anjou, QC walk out of his truck with an empty two 4 case of Labatts Bleue (10.1% a bottle). Made me realize, there's a lot of drivers taking the chance and having a few whiles on the road. Not good at all for the Trucker community especially in Canada where most no longer respect the daily trucker.

They drive like bats down I91 in Vermont. They come around the rest of us like they’re going to a fire.
BigHossVolvo Thanks this. -
Some don’t even need any impairment to drive as if they’re drunk. It’s a natural incompetence.
bzinger, BigHossVolvo and upnorthwpg Thank this. -
Very Common, I was at the Walmart DC in Calgary few years back. Syndicate transport day cab rolls in, parks by the ship/rec office, drivers door opens and the guy flops out onto the ground and is down for the count lol. Vodka and Whiskey bottles in the cab/cup holders.
I've seen several New Way Trucking drivers smoking weed in the Truckstop parking lot, or weed smoke coming out of their sleeper windows.Magoo1968 and NorthEastTrucker Thank this. -
Explains the terrible driving I see every time I visit BC lol.
NorthEastTrucker Thanks this. -
I'm not sure if this is unique to truckstops in PQ or if it's in other places in Canada, but as an American I was kinda surprised to see bars in truckstops there...

I’ve hauled all over western USA, everything west of Ohio/West Virginia , every truck stop in the US is basically a liquor store. It’s common place while waiting in line at the fuel desk to see every driver in line ahead of me to have a 6 pack , if not more , paying for fuel and their booze, so if you think impaired driving isn’t a problem all over you better think again

It baffles me that the onroutes sell alcohol. It’s a rest area with a convenience store. Mind you I wouldn’t have believed that Oklahoma had drive through service if I hadn’t seen it.
