Why would you tell the guy something like that? That's odd advice!
I tried both apps myself and they aren't working. Maybe they are now, but weren't earlier today.

    JogiDude Thanks this.

If the OP visits the terminal & asks for a job application -- it also affords the OP an opportunity to ask questions, eyeball their equipment, make other observations....& establish a rapport with the manager &/or staff -- which may well improve the odds of getting hired (assuming the OP makes a good 1st impression).

    Is that weird? :dontknow:

I recommended he go to a terminal and get an application. That's in my post. I assumed he won't just grab the application, then high-tail it for his car. Any normal person would also ask some questions.

    JogiDude and lual Thank this.

    Thank you for that clarification.

It's nice to know that we truckers are all normal people.....:p :D

The two applications on the website, I'm assuming one is for ready-mix trucks and the other for bulk sand & gravel trucks. If I were desperate for a job, I'd apply for both and take whatever is offered.

They emailed me that supposedly I'm NOT within range from their terminal. :(

Just added doubles/triples & tanks today, awaiting for HazMat TSA approval (1 month)

Buddy just told me I should do flatbeds (I'm 48 and had a knee injury) I was avoiding it but it seems I might have to try it.
Meanwhile I have applied for Superior and Vulcan & West Coast Sand & Gravel construction material delivery. And to one Amazon nearest company (80 miles away) .

Flatbed or Robertson's? I prefer to gain CDL A experience over CDL B in ready-mix.

Do you mean all the companies we posted rejected your application?
You still haven't found a job?

Melton Truck Lines website shows several entry-level job postings for new CDL holders in/near San Diego:

Job Search - Melton Truck Lines, Inc.

Note that all these positions will be for flatbed duty.

Be sure to acquaint yourself with the realities of the flatbed world -- before signing up.
