How's it going guys and gals? It's been a minute, but I do pray everyone is doing well and happy in this rapidly changing transportation industry. Currently still playing around with Landstar. Yup, gotta love them folks. Haha! But enough with the small talk. For the last 2 months or so I've been noticing a lot of trucks from Key West, Florida. So question 1. Has anyone ever been down there? The farthest I've seen was probably Doral. Question 2. Do any of yall live down there or do you know any drivers who live that far South? I have the Truckerpath App and I just don't see any major truck stops down there after Hialeah, FL. So for a driver that lives that far South where do they fuel and park their truck on home time? Don't say at the I-595 truck stop in Davie. That's like 3 hours away. Just yesterday I saw a load on the board that picked up in Atlanta and went to Key West. I was so amazed. I had no clue trucks were even allowed down there. So yeah, I'm just trying to get others viewpoints on this topic. As always I do thank yall kindly for the help an STAY SAFE out there.
South Florida drivers, specifically from the Keys?

No truck parking in the keys. At least for long term. Some places you can park overnight. -
Thanks for your help though.

I been to key west. I had load going to navel air station Truman. It was tight turn getting their. I had to park were the cruise ships dock. That's also right next to Truman navel air station.
I had electrical wire because they were remodeling the building. It was like 7 year ago.
Their is a Shell gas station I did see local trucks parked just before you get to Key west. I always thought if I could park their if needed. But to make my delivery I had drive down the main party bars and all the people were driving those little scooters around. I had to take the entire intersections to make the turns. I even called the cops the day before to see if it was ok. They said nothing special was needed the roads was not restricted to trucks. It was very tight turns but I made itGearjammin' Penguin, 727Guy and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -

Maybe some locals will be on here. From what I remember their was not anyplace to stop and park a big truck for food. That why I remember that shell gas station. If someone lives their they might have a little spot in front of their house. I think all the beer trucks for the bars in key west all come out of Miami area. I thought everyone making delivery out their just dove out and back for the day
I even looked for hotel I could spend a day or two at, I could not find anything. I called the Double Tree in key west. Looked like I could drive around building. I thought if I got room I could get parking spot also. They said they never had truck and trailer their and was not not sure I would fit. They said if I could, I was welcome to stay. I did not chance itLast edited: Aug 4, 2021
Speed_Drums and 727Guy Thank this. -
If anyone goes to Key West watch out for the deer. They have one island that has some very special deer you can only drive like 25mph on that island. Because if you hit one it's some crazy fine or something. Don't hit the deer what ever you do.
