Are there commercial dash cams that also have speakers? I can talk to onstar in my car so I'm guessing if it isn't there, then it is in the future. Although I have to push a button to consent to onstar. They don't just hit me up to chat. Also is there implied consent to audio in a commercial vehicle? I live in Michigan and it's illegal to record audio without consent. Which leads me to another question. If I mount my own dash cam and someone broadcasts over the speakers of the company dash cam is that considered an illegal recording? so many questions. I just started trucking again. I took a break to switch from OTR to local. I have a daycab. This is not a private vehicle with private spaces and it's company so I think a dash cam is fair in this circumstance. I wouldn't agree that it's as fair in a sleeper cab, especially something like a purchase. That said, I'm not really debating the ethics. Just curious what the tech is like that's out there. I tried to post about this in a facebook community but it got deleted. I guess speaking to safety is mind melting to some drivers. Beats me. Poop in a bag is so easily offended.
Speakers on dash cams, not recordings.
