My trainer has three rules: 1) drive 55 always. 2) don't hit anything. And 3) don't leave him behind when I stop. Like you said, fuel is his biggest expense. Unless we're DH, then 65.

Stupid question. Obviously never be late so I'm just gonna leave that one to duh. Second. Going 65 deadhead doesn't kill our mpg if it's within reason. Getting no less than 8.6 isn't stupid. It saves mulah. We went 65 for 350 miles yesterday and got 9.4 an up. I hit 10.01 before it dropped. Headin east from whyoming was a big helper thru Nebraska. It's fine if u think it's stupid but it won't change my trainer from saving himself money. Now I prob won't go 55 always when I upgrade. But it works for him. Nothing stupid about making more money at the end of the week.

Wasn't giving advise to ANYONE buddy. Maybe u should take it easy an take a chill pill. Tryin to insult me online does nothing. I can put my 2 cents in wherever I want. This is one of the reasons I dont lease... Going slower than 58 will make me too tired to make it far enough. It already feels like Im crawling. My truck seems to have issues with fuel mileage no matter how fast I go, so Im not goin 50 in a 70. Already had people almost drill me. Ya, Im not getting a fuel bonus, but Id rather have the miles. They pay better. L/O run their trucks a lot different than most company drivers do.

Going that slow is stressful. I dont see the need for a L/O to drive 50-55 just to make more money. I think at the sametime there are other things you are loosing when driving that slow. More time, and more miles left to run. High mpg is great but theres a limit I think you should go with that. ledzeppelin your trainer may choose to drive at 55 to make more money, but I think thats tiring. If I were to drive around 50-55 I would rather stay company than lease
