I've got a 2022 volvo and a starlink mini. I was looking at sifferent mounting options. I have a sunroof so I was thinking of a suction cup mount for it, but then I saw a driver with a big pole that looks like it was attached by some magnets. I need some recommendations please.

If you have a sunroof, definitely use a suction cup mount. You don’t have to worry about cables to the outside etc.

I've seen some YouTube RV channels reviewing the mini for their travels (in pickup trucks). A couple have used the suction cup mounts on the inside of their sunroof and claim it works just fine, even when in motion.

I took a flat steel plate and attached it to the GPS spot that came on my current truck. Last truck I magnet mounted it to the top of a mini split AC (outdoor unit) which is a metal box. Just mount it up high closest to full sky for best reception.

The Starlink is a phased array dish just like on Aegis class cruisers. Just need a clear view of the sky to function, but gets better if “pointed” in a northerly direction. I’ve got mine in box mounted on old Qualcomm mount up on top of roof. Works great
