Hello all. I do not have a CDL and I'm looking for a company that does CDL training that has manual transmissions. I'm in West Tennessee btw. Thanks for your help.

I drive for Ozark and I think we have a handful of trainers that still use standards. Give them a call. We're based out of west TN.

Nevermind, you don't have a CDL. Once you get one, Ozark is a decent outfit to work for.

Thanks for the info. I've looked at them but heard they have cameras in the trucks. I don't much care for that idea at all.

both use 10 speed stick shifts. The man that owns Wil-Trans, also owns Jim Palmer Trucking.

You need to realize that as a green rookie you’re not going to be able to have a long list of things that “aren’t going to work for you”. You need to find a starter company, put in your time, prove yourself, then start looking into smaller companies that meet more of your demands.

This entitlement syndrome disgusts me on many levels. This driver shortage everyone refers to doesn’t include green rookies. There is a shortage of good experienced drivers who have done exactly what I outlined above.

Are you in Savannah? If so,look at that company there that builds stainless steel restaurant equipment; it's American something. Couple of companies have a trailer pool at the factory; North Star maybe? Something to look at for the future. I've hauled out of there and they ship to 48 states.

I don’t much care for long hours or difficult loads. I don’t care for foul weather either.
