Given a schedule & a run like that....I'm sure that XPO will be giving you lots of latitude for making the absolute best decisions with the "captain of the ship" mentality -- for safety & road/weather conditions....
Safe travels!

I would say the most important part is having a teammate who is a competent driver and easy to get along with. I don't know your experience level, but I would find it difficult to rest in the sleeper if I wasn't confident in my co-driver. I'm also not entirely sure if the job is awarded based on a seniority bid system, or if they just hire drivers exclusively for that run. If that's the case, then you may not have the opportunity to bid on different shifts, solo runs, or city pickup and delivery.
I'll be curious to learn more, so please keep us informed. All the best!D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
I never worked for XPO but I ran team pulling doubles for years and it can be really good or it can really suck. A lot depends on how safe and considerate/quiet your co-driver is. If you have never run team sleeping well may be your hardest part at first, it was for me. We made our bed several different layers thick and it took out most of the road vibration that only using the truck mattress wouldn’t. First layer was an air mattress over top of the Truck mattress 3/4 inflated. Second layer was Eggshell crate looking foam padding over top of that. Next was a very thick comforter over top of that. Each driver placed a different bedroll overtop of that. Then we took a very large comforter and tucked it underneath the mattress of the top bunk to allow it to pull down in front of the bed once you got in the bed. That was to keep more of the cab noise from the sleeping compartment since the curtain blocked very little. The bed was about a foot taller than the mattress but it slept as good as a full wave waterbed did back in the day.

Thank you ,
Both for your replies.
I do have 19 months of team driving experience. My co-driver also has over a year teaming. So hopefully everything works out. I will keep you guys posted.

Oh, almost forgot.
Good thing is we are both in our 50's & non-smokers. -

Wtf making me reconsidering life being an o/o hauling cheap freight -
I still talk with several of their drivers occasiinally. SAIA, XPO, AAA Cooper, and OD.
They're all bringing in top $$, hell, even the city drivers do good in comparison to your average 40hr week.
Top linehaul and system drivers in the 130k a year range.High Stepper, D.Tibbitt and Kenworth6969 Thank this.
