I'm starting Central Refrigerated on Monday! Not sure if I'm anxious or saddened by leaving the family for so long to start a career. I know this is something my fiancee and I have talked about for so long, but I also know its going to be a better opportunity than just sitting at home and applying for jobs and not hearing anything back.
I'm wondering if there are any Central trainers here on the forum that care more about the quality of their training more than the extra pay. I've heard its possible to put in a request for a trainer as was hoping to find one that is also a smoker. :-/ bleh...need to quit I know.
Anyways, wish me luck! Thanks to all the help and answered questions here on this forum!

Good luck with your new venture! I'm out of Oregon also, (the wet side) and start my school with Swift on Mon. in Idaho. Stevens was one of my considerations also. Hope you find a good mentor. That's one of my biggest concerns too, you hear so many horror stories.

Good luck to you!

Good luck, remember if you can hack the first two weeks on the truck the hardest part is over. Not to discourage you but it will suck, it gets way better off your trainers truck.
Dont let your trainer disrespect you, he will probably see you as an atm but there is no excuse for you to have to eat while driving, take showers every 4 days etc. fudge that, I would.gladly work at.mcdonalds over that -
Starting in Fontana on the 23rd..best of luck to you..

Oh man - you said fiancee! Good luck with that....most "almost" newly weds who go OTR are well....

Lol, ya we knew it was/is going to be hard. But if we can work trough my first year then there's no reason we won't work longer. If we don't work, then maybe we weren't supposed to be together. Thanks for all the luck guys, I'm currently on the bus and find it funny that there are only 2 Central guys on here and the rest are CR England, glad I didn't go CR England's route of being another mill subject. I warned them about what I've heard about them pushing the lease option hard.
Anyways, my first recommendation to others that are going to riding a bus to start their new career, is to take some sleeping pills durin the night on the bus. It seems like everyone I fall asleep the bus stops shortly there after then I'm up for another hour.
Best of luck to those that said they are stating soon! Hope things work out for you and keep us all updated. Drive safe.
