You make a good point!
I should have quit when the last bs happened. Enough is enough. I thought for a brief moment there that I was going to get away with it for a few more months and leave in good order but they got me. You are right.
This will all work out in the end. I will win out. Not the end of the world.
I put that post up to warn other drivers. I knew I could be starting a war. It did. Meanwhile I am moving forward and I am not in a bad position. I hate to say it but if worse comes to worst I can take the loss. Of course retaliation will be the watchword of the day. These people are not in any kind of position to lose drivers or put off others signing on. In fact I think that is what is causing this now. They have a 'cash flow' problem. More as it unfolds and thanks for the support.
nobody will fight with you in this war of your own. Take a chill pill.
Really. Is that why your manager sent a lying email to me to trick me into coming to Florida? Then again lied to me in the drop yard to get me into the office?
Cashflow is not the problem, the ANXIETY is.
Oh but I think it is. This is a classic symptom of a trucking company that is spending more than it takes in. All staff get their wages all bills must be met but a delay receiving money in from brokers / factor causes a cash flow issue. Easy to solve just build a delay into paying the driver. The logs weren't on time, BOL wasn't received. All nonsense of course but we are systematically playing for time here. All drivers on this forum remember Arrow Trucking and the problems they gave drivers. I can expand on brokers fronting fuel money and 2 hour factors. All OOs here know how that works.
Please submit your PODs and logbooks on time, spend more time working and your ends will meet.
All paperwork was submitted on time. How about paying on time. "spend more time working" what has that got to do with anything? I live on the road. Anyhow totally irrelevant, I could run 50 miles in a week and take the rest of the week off you still have to pay on time. BTW my ends meet no problem. Not all drivers are underfunded.
We understand that being an Owner Operator is frustrating sometimes, but this is your choice and it has a little to do with the company you work for.
You keep dodging the issue. Pay the driver and pay the driver on time. Not when you feel like it but when you agreed to during orientation. Don't lie to drivers. Don't tell a driver he can make $8,000 a week when everybody out here knows it is complete nonsense. Don't say you have your own customers when you don't. You have a choice Linas, pay me what you owe me immediately or this will go on and on. It is $2,645, Tuesday has ended and no money. Keep to the subject at hand.
Best luck to you!
Keep your luck and give me the money you owe me from last Friday.
Ok an update.
Today $2,437 was deposited in my checking account. So it is a positive. It is 4 working days late but more on that in a minute.
You might be asking yourself what happened to the original $2,645 that you were talking about before. Good point!
I will explain, there is an up side to this.
The money that was expected was 80% of 3 loads that were submitted a week ago last Monday. They should have been paid Friday and I despise tardiness especially when it comes to my money. It breeds distrust and in this industry with good reason.
The amount due was $2,645 (should have been more but IFTA was due so fair enough). You see a smaller sum so what am I talking about?
An unknown sum was deducted for trailer "wear". This fee has been charged to me once before and I accepted it. This case is a little different. I was told by the manager Dimitry that there would be NO charge both in an email and again to my face. NO CHARGE. However I have been charged anyway, how much I don't know and how it was calculated I have absolutely no idea!
There is zero in my contract saying there will be a charge when a trailer is returned and nothing about how that charge will be calculated. A mystery.
However this is trucking not my little pony. Milk gets spilt and everybody wants to get their beak wet. In the contract I am clearly responsible for trailer maintenance and how that is interpreted is open to debate. So even though I was told twice there would be no charge I am willing to accept responsibility and say this is a bump in the road because half a loaf is better than no loaf.
Still why the strange difference in amount between the 2 sums. This, I suppose is a small ray of sunshine. Linas, the owner, known here as "Status Transportation" was not personally aware of the 2 ripoffs mentioned in the original post or of any of the bs his dispatchers were pulling. His manager had been told - Mr Dimitry again - but he had dismissed my complaints. God knows why because he caused a relatively small problem that was a quick fix to turn into a festering sore.
One must be fair to Linas, when he was told of the $10 a settlement so I could receive my own money and the outrageous $136 foisted on me to modify one of their trailers he stepped up to the plate and took responsibility. This is a good thing. It shows a certain amount of character and honesty. Refreshing.
Therefore he asked the accountant to calculate the $10 a check nonsense in total and added that to the settlement in addition to the $136. So the ending amount wasn't equal to what was really due but I can live with it. Unfortunately the accountant took a long weekend and that built in a delay. Again not his fault, he tried but was thwarted due to her absence. I do not know why he didn't tell me, I have no explanation for that.
He has also told me that he has absorbed everything I have mentioned here in this forum. This time I actually believe him and I think from what he has said to me that there is going to be a shake up at Status Transportation.
Because of his recent actions and attitude I am beginning to think that this thread has had a positive effect and I am a driver that does not budge easily. I guess we should be glad that Trucker Report gives us a place to get somebody's attention.
There is still a huge question mark hanging in the air over Status Transportation and it is too early to say whether there is change or not. From what I have been told it seems there will be. I don't forgive easily and so I am going to leave but my opinion of Status has gone from STAY AWAY to neutral.
I am still owed 1 BOL and a $1,500 escrow. There is absolutely no reason why they should not be paid properly and in full. If they are not you'll know!
As each is settled I will post it here. You watch the timeline and be your own judge.
On that note I shall cease posting and my very real threat to take all this viral is frozen.
Now back to working on my truck.
