mcleod express, is a terrible company to work for, i highly recommend drivers stay far away from them, working for them cost me three years of my time and career as a truck driver, I was injured fueling there truck, slipped on ice at a truck stop, suffered a head injury because of it, because of the nature of the injury I suffered because of this company, I had to take off for 3 years until I got cleared again, when it happened I got rushed to the er, when I returned to get my things from my truck, I discovered they had another driver that was close to the truck stop lock me out of my assigned truck, so I had to pay for a lock smirh to come and unlock the truck so I could get my cellphone, and wallet and money, had to take them to court and fight tooth and nail, to get compensation for the injury I suffered, safety is a joke and a pain to deal with like all companies, pay was terrible for full otr, trucks constantly broke down, with the same issue over and over, colt mclead the owners son took over the company at the time I started and dident know much about the industry, not sure about his father, all around horrific experience working for them,
Stay away from mcleod express out of Decatur Illinois

Back in May of this year is did, i appreciate it, it was one heck of a time for awhile, had to hire a lawyer, go yo court, go to several doctors, and the crazy thing about it is other then the injury i am and still completely healthy, it was literally 100 percent there fault it even happened and I was even there for it to happen, and they still tried blaming it on me.

they had to pay back pay, and such, I'm considering just leaving trucking behind and finishing college, I have a spotless record, and over 2 years experience since I got my cdl in 2019, but the job is just not worth doing for 70 hours a week for the pay these companies try to pay the driver, not to mention the live unloads, I'm averaging like 10 hours a week of unpaid time just sitting in a dock on a dedicated account. any other job out there, lawyer, doctor, nurses, accounting so on your paid for every thing you do. They want to regulate everything other then fair working conditions for drivers.
HaglerFan and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
I understand totally. I went to college before I started driving. Me personally, I'm attracted to the autonomy trucking brings. The regulations, I can't even remember them all lol. I think trucking is harder for me psychologically than the actual job function. What would you study?
Lonesome Thanks this. -
You say you slipped on ice and it's the co's fault ?
-
-
um, i literally slipped on ice, trying to fuel their truck while on the job. so, and the company treated me sub human, so ya it's a trash company that I highly suggest, not working for because they would do it to anyone.
