Steer tire wear

    I've run into this from "hugging the fog line". The outside edge runs up on the edge/slope of ruts in the road and wears them out.

    It was in my case... And If you try to stay on the right side of your lane, I can see it happening. I took it in for alignment at two different shops and it was "good".

    I'm no mechanic. I'm sure there will be more comments to come.

    Edit: I only noticed the wear on the steers tires, not the drives... it was odd.

    How many miles on them? Both sides doing it? Just went and looked at mine. Outside (same type edge) is slightly lower, on both sides and on both tires. My tires are FS 591 Firestone. Mine have almost 45k miles. If you run your hand across and tires are nice and flat, no feathering i think your good. Think tire man called it the decoupling grove?

    I put michelin tire before 3k miles . Both sides both tires i have that wear . Especially when it is hot outside.
