I did a search but really couldn't find anything specific. It's probably here so feel free to point out the thread to me.
If not though, one thing I notice while traveling back and forth across the US in my car is that trucks are going the same speed-limit as the car limit. I have never cared but I wondered how they got away with it, or maybe they don't always. I'm not sure I agree with the difference in the speed-limit laws but for me, I am wondering when I am out there, I will want to follow the signs. I've always been that way even though I have crept up over the speed-limit many times in my life. Just didn't get caught.
I do wonder if I won't get griped at if I stick to those speed-limits? Know what I'm sayin? I mean, if all the other trucks are going 65 and I am at 55. Should do a poll on this one to see how many do their best to stick to the speed-limit and how many don't![]()

Many trucks can no longer do the speed limit, if its over 60 MPH. There is no, none, nada, reason to speed, it is NOT worth it. Most tickets cost more in a big truck, and may get you fired. And remember, pee on what the other drivers say or think, you're in charge of your truck, not them...
By the way I have many plants like yours........ -
Again, I know you are right about the speed limit. I knew the answer in my gut but yet when you see so many truckers doing that I just wondered if there was a new law I didn't know about. Thank you much -
The states that had split speed limits are doing away with them as they are dangerous.

Most company trucks these days can't go much over 65 some not even that fast. Just remember 4 wheelers don't run the speed limit either. I don't know of any state that will not give you 5 mph over except CA. I have always run 5 mph over and have never once been pulled over for that. However with the economy and all it's amazing how many city cops are out on the big road looking for revenue. Just be wise and if your running the speed limit there are alot who don't so be wise of this when trying to pass a 60 mph truck with a 60.3 mph truck.

Yep, I've always used the "5 mph over" as well. Suppose they could nail you if they want because I don't know of any law that says it is ok but just always heard of so I do it sometimes. Mostly I just want to keep my license always so I just go by the signs. Again I'm not perfect, by a lonngggggggggggg shot but just not young and as fearless(or was that stupid?)

Michigan, Indiana, Part of West Texas, Arkansas, Areas of Tennessee, Idaho, Washington and Montana still have the splits and I doubt they will ever change.
