You can't be too careful. People know truck drivers have to have resources, phones, cash, tools and equipment, so there are people watching for a crack in your defenses. Leaving the window open does not count as defenses. You gotta be more alert and observant. Of course, stuff happens to anyone, since no one is perfect, but you could have had the phone in your pocket. Or closed the window. Or.....
A woman team driver I met in Laredo told me she was in the bunk resting, her husband went in to the fuel desk to pay for their fuel. While he was inside, she heard the door open and presumed it was him? It wasn't. It was a bad guy taking their phones, tablets, and some cash. Right there at the fuel island!
