First paragraph is completely false and the second sentenced I quoted is exactly what’s wrong with the new breed of cattle haulers.

After living in a rural area for the past eight years, this is pretty much truth. Plenty of work to be had out here as far as trucking goes. But when it's all tied into the various agriculture activity out here, the pay is definitely weak and more or less the same regardless of how much job hopping one does out here.

Milk hauling, grain hauling, silage/manure hauling, it's nothing to get rich off of. I feel ag money is definitely more limited than say, "oil money" down in the southeastern parts of NM and West TX. Apart from the typical paychecks boasted by drivers in the oil fields, it also shows in the quality of the local infrastructure and even something as simple as the Stripes convenience stores down there.

I've thought about city living/moves myself for the past few years. But the high costs, high rise apartments(as opposed to garden apartments) and possibly having to befriend a bunch of tech bros if I don't want to be a loner up in, say the Denver metro, had me whigging out of every possible job offer due to cold feet.

Cattle! Haul for JBS the only time you'll see city is when you are unloading and that is the outskirts.

My old man was a cow hauler in the late 70s and we lived in the country .
One day he was changing oil on the astro with cab jacked up and the side box door open exposing the hot shot .
About 20 ft away my sis was tanning in a lounger next to the house with a towel over her eyes .
I gave her a little tune up with the prod .
I wasnt to popular around the house for a while after that .
