I work for a company that's transitioning to a new system picking up product directly from the DC in Morris, IL. Starting out of sturtevant, wi. I haven't made the trip yet, but it's about a 100 miles each way, Chicago traffic, and they're expecting for us to make 2 turns in 1 shift. That's driving doubles, so drop and hooking won't be as quick as a single trailer, and on top of that who knows if the loaded trailers will be ready for us to grab. Plus we're required 17 minutes for a pre, and post trip, so 4 times total. and 2 30 minute breaks. Does anyone see this doable in 14 hours, considering we can only drive 11, which gives us a little over 2.5 hours each way ? Cause in my mind, they're out of their mind . Plus we're on e- logs
Sturtevant, wi to Morris, IL , 2 turns in one shift . What do you guys think ?

Itll be close thats for dang sure, google maps right now says 2.5 hours for the 115 mile trip. Thats 10 hours driving with whatever the traffic is doing at 1500.
could be worse, could be better.
If you cant d/h and pti 4 sets of doubles in your 2.5-3 hours of on duty time.... that may be where your having a problem.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Yea and they want us to get 1 hour worth of breaks into 14 hours. I can't wait to see how it plays out . Transition starts in 2 weeks

Honestly, my company does 3 mke to willowbrook (90 miles) turns with doubles and it's very do-able at night. During the day, 2 turns should be ok.

Why TWO 30 minute breaks?
