Successfully applied for my two ( barely).

Doing a 34 in reno, and decided to go to the airport to get my twic going. One chick working there who quickly told me " no cell phones, but that's cool. Had my birth cerficate which is from Puerto Rico. I was born on an airforce base. And for those who don't know ( and there's alot) it's not a foreign country. But that wasn't the problem. She looks at my birth certificate and says " the name on your license has to exactly match the birth certificate. I forgot, because it's a very Spanish place, it's customary to show my first, middle, and last name followed by my mother's maiden name. Example, george arthur smith jones. Thats why all these cartel people have such long names. No way to change that. But, because I couldn't look at my phone while waiting, I read their brochures. One was birth certify, where you pay a fee to get your birth certificate instantly certified. You have to be born in a state that allows it. Most do but not my state of residence, texas.. but wait! I was born in p.r. which is on the list and has the lowest fee, $13. So that worked.
Next the program wanted my hazmat expiration date and its not on my license as such. I asked for it back to look at it and she said " i already looked and its not on there". I had the txdps screw up alot before. So I was worried there. I told her to enter the license exp date and it worked. No thanks to her. If it wasn't for my due diligence, I would have been turned away. I don't know if she was going to mention the birth certify because I brought it up immediately. If I was allowed to use my phone, I never would have read their brochures. Anyway alls well in the end.
A bonus is, you can skip screening when flying with your twic. But I haven't flown in 6 yrs and my family would still have to get screened.
