SUNGLASSES WEAR - What is your choice.

I can't wear any sunglasses my ears are back on the sides of my head back there a bit. Always have to try several ones on. Oakley gascan, Vonzipper clutch are my preferred go to. They look sharp imo and fit my big melon head well. I always liked various Raybans but they never fit, feel right, and I just can't wear em. Sunglasses are kind of like boots you just gotta try different ones on to see what feels right.

I second your Maui Jim comments. My daughter is an optician and she got me hooked on them a few years ago once I had to get prescription eyewear. Prior to that I used the cheap blackout safety sunglasses you could buy for about $1 a pair. Whatever you get, get true polarized lens if you can. Right now I use my Maui Jim's on the boat or when I am going to be outdoors long periods of time and I have magnet mount polarized lens that snap onto my regular glasses for my day to day activity and driving. They fit in a cool little hard sided case that slips into my front pocket easily. I will have to check the brand and get back to you.

I wish I had gotten into polarized lens years ago as they are much easier on the eyes, although with the digital dashboards today polarized lens make seeing the instruments more difficult (which is why they still are not recommended for pilots). Been wearing oakleys all my life. Never tried anything else. Thats what everyone wore when we played sports growing up.. polarized lenses are the bees knees. Its hard to live down here in the southwest without a good pair of glasses

I agree on quality sunglasses. I have Oakley prescription sunglasses, because I am old lol. I had a pair of Maui Jim's in the past, that i really liked.

 

I’ve been debating on getting a pair of good shades myself. When I’m not driving I love to go fishing so the glasses can pull double duty. I was finally gonna pull the trigger on a pair of Maui Jim’s at Cabelas but they the pair I picked they wanted to sell me the display model for full price which was like $289 on the sticker plus PA sales tax.
I’ll wait and order online for my next hometime.

 

OSHA approved as PPE as well
