For the record, I don't work for these folks. However, I have both a pump and compressor and I wouldn't have it any other way. You want to be known as a "go to" individual, able to take any and all loads. It may take a little while to pay off the equipment depending upon your circumstances but I think it will be worth it in the long run. Having a P&C should also provide the opportunity for additional accessirial pay, such as laying out hose (in my case this depends upon quantity used).

I think its where and how you want to run. If you want to run system bouncing between different terminals then I would probably have the pump just to avoid sitting. If you are running dedicated and don't need it then its a waste of money and the 1% extra wont be worth it. Just remember 1% is $10 for every $1000 of linehaul. So if that pump costs you $3,000 installed its going to take A LOT of loads to pay for itself. My second truck had the hydrachem pump+air combo and it was 10k installed.

Might not be a bad idea to call their terminal you plan on running out of and see what types of products they haul. If they haul a lot of flammables there’s a good chance a pump will open you up for more loads than if they haul a lot of corrosives or non haz.

    From Heniff

Major News Alert! Heniff Transportation Systems, LLC acquires Premier: a Canadian bulk transportation company. “Kevin and I started as competitors and then we began working together on ways to serve our customers better. Today, we come together as true partners.” - Bob Heniff, CEO of Heniff. Premier gives Heniff an integrated network of over 100 terminals which creates a bulk logistics network in North America that is second to none in being able to provide service solutions and asset-based capacity to its customers and drivers. We look forward to expending our operation and providing the best value to our customers and drivers.

I thought they already owned them. Use to see them pull premier trailers out of Laredo a few years back.
