That is decent money for experienced guys. It is hard to beat Superior right out of truck driving school. The biggest down side is small sleepers on the company trucks. What terminal would you run out of? Some terminals like to keep guys close and don't let them run as much as they want to.

They had nice trucks with big sleepers, but also had 2 old flat top Freightliners with small sleepers sitting on the yard. I drove one because that's what I wanted; it pulled better than the new fancy trucks. I kept it until the company got rid of it. Terminal manager couldn't understand why I didn't want one of the new trucks. I liked the pulling power the old one had. I ran 48 states by choice, so lots of steep hills to climb. -
@Chinatown
Probably more room in that small sleeper than your old bunk on ship. -
On the New Jersey (BB-62) finally got a bottom bunk that was solid and a good mattress. Only problem with a bottom bunk is all your stuff is stored under it so you don't get a locker.Short Fuse EOD Thanks this. -

Another thing to consider is Superiors benefits are pretty darn good. They offer low cost health, 401k, low cost supplemental life insurance. About 10 paid holidays a year, vacation. Hometime is plentiful and they ALWAYS get you home when you request, most time a day early.
Your not going to do much better than Superior. Definitely a family friendly company.
In addition to your mileage pay you get paid for everything else you do as well. Load/unload pay, layover, breakdown pay, sleeper berth pay.Birdman803 Thanks this. -
To sum it up quickly...you would be a fool to turn down Superior for Schneider or CTL.

I'm a Superior driver and that's about right pay-wise. As for the benefits, they're industry leading. I've been here 3 yrs and luv the company

Man o man, I'd love to tour one of those old battlewagons someday! Big, heavily armed and armored, enough firepower to reduce a port city to rubble!
Yeah, I like navy warships. My old man served on the USS Rayquin (old style WWII era submarine). Got to tour her in Pittsburgh a few years back. She's hard docked at the Carnegie Science Center as a musuem piece. Funny thing is, my old man stood 6'4", weighed 265lbs. Duty station was in the galley (only place he could stand up straight), but his battlestation was forward torpedo. Must've been funny as heck watching him hustle through the command center during drill. Grace is not a term that could ever be applied to my father!
