Hi Guys! He finished his month with his trainer. That was quite an experience. He’s been on his own now since Saturday. The truck they gave him is in great shape. Under 100,000 miles, clean and was well taken care of. That was a big concern after he had met a number of coworkers at the yard in WI who were held up with truck problems.
It seems that even though the work with the trainer is done, there are still many opportunities to learn. Some mistakes have been made with driving time running out and not realizing the load could not be dropped off until after. But it’s all a learning experience.
I cooked some homemade meals and portioned them in freezer bags for his fridge/freezer in the truck, plenty of snacks, tuna pouches, beef jerky, water… etc. you guys were right about the tv and gaming systems… ha! There’s no time for all that with paperwork and rest and figuring out the next route.
All in all… things are good.

Your hubbie is VERY FORTUNATE to have a spouse like you who is willing to fix homemade meals & package them thoughtfully...:notworthy:

That’s a good deal, I assume he got a Volvo? The company I work for has a few, they’re good trucks, maybe a little small for 3 week turns, but if you make a good use of the space they’re more than capable of being comfortable. Y’all keep up the good work.

When new use that last hour to find somewhere to park so you won’t bust time on elog, can fine tune clock later when you get to know where you’re going to park.

    lual and tarmadilo Thank this.

    Sorry 'bout that! LOL

Really, just seeing this thread. Glad to see all is going well for him. Nice to see he has wife standing by his side throughout.

Joking about Volvo has to do with my past experience & currently have friend that has 2 of 3, 3yr old ones down. One catastrophic failure.

All makes & models have their issues that cannot be predicted, just nature of the mechanical beasts.

Wish both him & yourself all the best.

A razor and some blades. There's a company in Arizona that makes these by hand and the blades are dirt cheap.
