I have a feeling they're updating their database. By asking experts (AKA truckers) where they're at you get a more reliable data set. No different than asking on the CB.

It seems to me it is in our own best interest to make sure the data in our units is as accurate as possible.

Rand has checked with the State DOT web pages and numerous other sites on the internet. Their are a few missing and since there are about 3 million drivers whom pass by these each day whom better to ask.

Rand get's a lot of Tell Rand's with this info, but like some rest area's are not listed if they are on a US route.

I am going to ask Rand if they will throw something into the kitty for the top ten drivers whom submit the most.

Rand wants any and all weight stations and rest area's.

Put XXXX in the subject line. Will make for easier filtering.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Sorry if this has been covered, but with 119 pages it gets old to read through everything ya know?

Driving North on I-35 just north of MP120 I noticed that some of the roads & info it was showing just sorta blinked off. They came back then went out again, only all the roads blinked off. Twas me and my route only. Everything came back and I told my trainer about it. He took a glance and it all happened again. So it wasn't me going briefly crazy & blind or anything like that. It only happened that once in that area though I can't imagine it being a location-specific issue.

Oh and correct me if I'm wrong, but the "Tell Rand" feature is how I would identify a weigh station that is now a rest area, a weigh station that is not included, and that TX at night is always 65?

BTW I don't get online as often as I'd like, but I'll check in when I can.

Hi,,, might I know the state and location..

    Yes and Yes.

The speed limits are known by Rand, but these are in the Map database. Rand is working on correcting the states that have increased. Va being the most recent. Texas is a little different. Some coding may have to be written to handle AM\PM speeds.

    Thanks,
    Mark

BTW... welcome to the wonderful world of Trucking.... be safe when you drive and learn from others on the road.

    Hi,

Just wanted to bring to your attention a small issue when you are updating.

    1. Make sure you upgrade to TND Dock 1.0.97.

Once you upgrade to Dock 97, if you get a error message saying the Dock cannot backup your TND, just hit continue at the bottom. The TND will update your unit.

The TND Dock when it installs it puts certain files on your C:\ under a path defined by your operation system, (XP, Vista, Win7). But, some computers tend to not follow the general path of what the Dock is seeking.

The 1st thing the TND Dock does is back up your user files, if the path that is defined in the Dock is not found then it will generate an error. Older versions of the Dock do not handle this error well and will not allow anymore functionalitiy of the Dock to get around this error.

Dock 97 will allow you to continue and update. Please note this affects the backup button also. Rand is aware of this and the Dock is being written to force a more stable path for backups.

If you are on a 64 bit machine make sure you are on Dock 97 also.

    thanks,
    mark

This error is a memory error. Make sure you update to version 1808.

This should only affect the following model - T5B (A 32 series). This can be found on the back of the TND, bottom right.

If you receive this error on the T5B(A32 series), just "x" out of the error message and the TND should operate normally.

This condition will arise when two of the counters for driver status's are set to "0" and you have audio set in preferences and only during bootup of the TND.

Rand is aware of the issue and has correct the issue. It will be in the next released version.

    thanks,
    Mark

If they can link the different speeds in Texas to the dimmer it might save some coding headaches. Or create some.
