I try to stay away from blind spots where I can't see oncoming traffic for this reason. Sobering reminder of how quick things can go wrong.
When I saw this my first thought was - if steer tire spindle broke off,
Tire/wheel would be in the cab, instead of a shower of small debris.
Scary.
OK, I'll slow down.
