Suspension weight ratings

In my experience axles are rarely checked when you get a permit. Permits are mostly a way to make money for the state and keep overweight/oversize truck on certain routes for safety or enforcement reasons. It's funny to me how my overweight truck is automatically safer when l pay for a permit as opposed to not having one.
