I know this is slightly off topic, but @Mike2633 told me about a beer company's side loader trailers being pulled in a set of doubles somewhere in Ohio and I finally saw one the other night on 75 near our Perrysburg (Toledo) terminal. That was pretty weird looking, too!

    Mike2633 and Naptown Thank this.

I saw a setup like that not long ago in the same general area. I had to do a double-take to make sure I didn't need to shut down for a nap.

I worked for the company here in Eastern Ohio that pulled the beer doubles. You guys who work for Millis and drive here in Ohio have been to the company I used to work fore.

Especially if you hauled beer out of Trenton, Ohio at the Miller-Coors Plant.

That swift pup is used on the sears account. They have a couple swift pups and then they have some orange pups that actually sit lower, kinda like a moving van, that swift got from Schneider when the took over the sears account. They use them very rarely to get into very tight sears stores, I forget which ones. If I remember correctly, the driver takes a set out and breaks it at the store. Kinda odd.

That's all they had here in Phx in the 80's & 90's, then they sold them all off-my neighbor has one in his back yard for storage.

That thing needs to be put in the Iowa 80 museum. Aptly listed as 'The One That Got Away! - a SWIFT legend'.
