Maybe that's how USA operates. Swift doesn't do that. Whatever has been paid toward the loan is paid. You are expected to finish paying it off. And no, it does not immediately go to collections. You have to be an ADULT about it and contact them to arrange REPAYMENT OF A LOAN!
Oh, and by the way? That loan remains INTEREST FREE. Find me another financing company that will do that.
Yes, personal experience.

You're right...I gotta admit when you're right. It was only worth $4.88 to get my CDL and a job...that pays three times as much as any other job I've held. ($4,400/mo) unsurvivable slave wages. No idea how I can get by on that.
(For those who don't know me, this post is dripping with thick sarcasm.) -
Oh....wait..weren't you a trainer for Swift, Otter?
I am soooo ashamed I missed that one!otherhalftw Thanks this. -
But to stay on topic...I never charged for my service(s)
Just for honesty....I did accept gratuities....and an occasional meal!Injun Thanks this. -

I was involved in a similar lawsuit with CRST. Contrary to popular belief, these companies must pay STATE minimum wage rates to any student/driver equal to that of the minimum required by law WITHIN THE STATE WHERE THEY ARE TRAINED AND HIRED. CRST alleged that because it's drivers based out of California traveled all 48 states, they did not have to pay the CA minimum 8.00 per hour. They instead paid a rate closer to that of the federal minimum. A Judge in San Diego sided with the plantiffs filing against CRST, and to avoid further litigation, the company agreed to release all former and current CA contract graduates from their contractual agreements and cease collection efforts. Had the company just increased it's training pay rate by a lousy 2 or 3 dollars an hour, it would have saved itself over 12,000,000 in damages and kept it's work contracts in tact. Kind of hard to feel sorry for em' though, dont you think?? -
