Expect to sit more and get paid less. Tis the season. Bad weather usually ups the demand. I love winter.

I think they're just going to reduce costs to raise next quarter earnings. This year has been low on consumer spending because of the economic uncertainty we are in. besides what the news is telling us, if you look around, everyone trying to save every penny they can. America isn't cheap we're just all trying save money because we just got out of a recession. with that said, I think the American public wants to get back to being regular Americans but it's probably going to take until next year...mid next year. Right in time for 4th of July.
does it affect the industry as a whole?clearly it has since the beginning of the year. so if you own a truck this year and you're getting by, hold on just a little longer, it's going to pay off.

    1) I like that the swift truck in the picture is sporting a Rebel Flag license plate!

    2) Some of it is truth and some of it is smoke and mirrors. Is demand down? yes. Is swift also having a very hard time filling the trucks they already have? Also a yes. No point in trying to expand when you cant fill the truck already sitting at a terminal. Id be willing to be that if you put in an app and have a marginally decent record they would still hire you though.

Swift does a lot of things to drive away drivers. This may be a way to camouflage that to investors. By saying you have no intention to expand no one is expecting better numbers in truck utilization.

Then why was there a big article a couple of years ago about how Jerry Moyes took it private again?
