Hello,
I'm new to this site and a recent grad from a driving school in WI.
I have an orientation date from swift, and I was just wondering if anyone knows what the road test is like.
Thanks in advance,
Jeremiah

I'll be blunt. It varies from testing site (terminal) to site.
Your best option is to call where you're going to and ask. I'm a bit on the sneaky side so I'd not use my own name. But then again.......I'm a woman and sneaky. -
All road test in all companies are basically the same. Up shift, down shift, (except for the auto transmissions) , left turns, right turns, and back up either to a dock if they have one or spot the trailer in between two other trailers. Plus showing them you can do a pre trip

I can do all that...so I should be ok -
At swift, it will vary from terminal to terminal, tester to tester. However, it will in general only deal with them seeing that you can keep the truck under control. They will not worry or fail you just because you miss a couple of shifts. Just keep the truck and yourself under control and you will do fine.
Texas-Nana Thanks this. -
You have to test to drive for Swift?
I thought they just handed out trucks in the Mall or something!
what school did you go to in Wisconsin? -

Like I said... Swift handing out trucks at the mall...
Sun Prairie is a CDL Mill.
one of the worst.
I can't believe they expect drivers to be ready for the road after 2 weeks of training...
I wish the best of luck to you.

It doesn't say how long the "basic program PLUS" is, but I'm not hoping to find out. [edit] Oh lordy, it's only 4 weeks long...[/edit]
I would like to hear, however, what the tuition was for this "school."
(when I asked what school you went to, i was REALLY hoping you were going to say Fox Valley, one of the best schools in the country. But Sun Prairie?
