    yup, remember it well, had been transferred to the Saratoga from Bein Hoa airfield Vietnam and flying beans and bullet runs and medivacs.

    I did NOT partake.

    saw the Jarheads stationed with the M16's watching for sharks and remembered diving of Grand Isle in PI running across Sea snakes and BIG sharks.

    Same here. One time I was given Shore Patrol duty on Grande Island because of a big party with drunk sailors & Marines. Everyone on R&R from Vietnam.
    My better judgement took control, so I stashed the Shore Patrol gear behind a dumpster on the pier and hit the bars in Olongapo instead. The next day, guys, some with black eyes and other cuts & bruises, were complaining about all the fights and rioting on Grande Island that night. I said, "I didn't have any problems with it."

    LOL, there were some wild times there for sure!!

    my diving was with some Seals we picked up in the bush. had no idea what I was doing. lol

    lucky I didn't drown. lol
