I've done it before. Lease op for near 2 years. I kept above water nearly the whole time. Except when I took a week off. I thought I did ok, for my first contract lease. I learned a lot. I was under an illusion though. I thought I would be able to purchase the truck I was in when the contract was up. My fault for not reading the fine print stating I needed 12k down. I only had about 8k and I didn't want to be tied to another contract at the time, as I felt "betrayed and lied to". That was a few years back.
After escaping a job where the stress outweighed any of the freight I hauled, I'm back on the road with a decent company in my opinion and my experience. They have an interesting lease plan, and after reading the printed stuff I could, I am planning to take another swing at it, this time, there would be no balloon to pay at the end of the term.

Once I sign it, I will post on here my experiences, I will also start , and try to be consistent with a biweekly podcast. I'll post a link to it after I get it set up or direct message me and I can do it then if mods here believe it would be advertising on the forum. I want to abide by the rules.

Reply on this thread if you would have an interest.
Btw, I am omitting the company name for now to silence the naysayers, disgruntled drivers whom it didn't work out for, and the. "Haters" who just want to poo in everyone's bed.
    Take care drive safe .

I'm in the same boat. Did alright with Central's lease program last year, but came off the road for a local gig. Empty promises there led me back on the road, this time with another company--and another lease deal. This one is mucho better than my deal with Central was. Alas, I've thought about doing a thread, but don't want to do battle with the keyboard warriors screaching on-and-on about how I'm going to fail. So... best of luck to ya!

I'm glad you found another way you are happy about, and the local gigs always seem to be jobs of convenience rather than retirement.
    Thanks for the post!

So I signed my lease on Monday and have been what appears to be busy all week . Short loads add up fast though and I can't complain too much.
Got my first dud load today. Dud as in it was to be preloaded and it's not even started yet .
With any luck I'll get out of this funk and do some real driving very soon

I did shuttle work with paper logs. The co I'm leased on with uses e logs. It's like having a stopwatch counting down from 14hrs and another for the 30minute break. The 30minute break has screwed me out of on time delivery twice. It's going to take some time to get used to that.
I have to say I do like how the load plans keep coming and I get stacked for the weekend. When I get done with my current beer run, I'll have 2hrs left on my 70. And that is using recap time too. I may have to relax after delivery tomorrow.
More to come after the week.

So I'm back out again this week after taking 34 at home. I love that I already knew my next 2 loads coming into the weekend. I had the truck in the shop for a few tweets yesterday, and now it's all good. I take advantage of shop time because I'm paying a "front to back" coverage fee, it's like a warranty for the life I'm with the company. So even an adjustment here and a new seal on the power steering gearbox is worth the time in my view.
So now I'm going to Alabama. Should unload by noon. Then we will see what the weekend brings.
I know we are all sick of snow and ice , but be careful to watch out for it. It's April, and there are still storms that will hinder us.

And I'm just going to say it, I like this company and how they treat me. I've never been talked to like a person before, it's surreal.

What company? All leases are different so your success story is moot unless we know who it is.
