I just started reading this post.
Even I would not think to bring either of my two small children with me on the road. That being said I must agree with what has been said earlier, offer SUPERVISED visitation at the home or a third party situation so the little one has a chance to get to know both parents in a neutral setting for a few YEARS.
Good luck with the custody of the child, my family and I are praying for you.
Taking children on the road?

After reading all the GOOD advice given here I ahve to add this. If you do take the child, it would be best if the truck had 2 beds, a t.v., to play games or videos, a fridge and a portapoty. That's what we had in our truck. It just makes it alot easier if there are some comforts of home there that the child can relate to. It is a different enviroment for a little child but it can be a fun time also.GL and be safe...squirrellsgnwild Thanks this.

I'm so happy to hear this. The fact that neither of them showed up to the hearing will speak volumes to the judge. Please let us know how things continue. -

You would be correct, however if you had read the entire thread you would have known that we were granted an emergency protection order 2 days before.
On the other hand, leaving your child with someone else for 5yrs without providing emotional or financial support to the child is considered child abandonment, right?Lilbit, leannamarie and Texas-Nana Thank this. -

Man, trucker kids these days are so spoiled LOL . When I went on the road with my dad, I took my books, I held my pee until the next stop, listened to C&W, and ate truck stop food every meal. TV and port-o-potties indeed!
