What is the Roehl company policy on taking a tractor home?
    Does anyone know?

In case this makes any difference, I have a Roehl drop yard about
3miles south of my home, but even then, I dont want to leave my only other car sitting there for 2-3 weeks while I am out.

We have 2 older cars, I suppose in case one breaks down, which did happen to me 3 weeks ago.

So, I am wondering what the rules are. The only drivers I know are on the 7/4-3 team and obviously you dont take the tractor home.

most companies wont allow you take the truck home with you, however, since you only live 3 miles i couldnt see it being a problem.
you have options tho... just take it home and tell/ask anyone, and u could say that another driver said u could cause how close you live.
you could simply ask roehl what the policys are on takin the truck home.
tell them that when your home on home time youd like to take the truck 3 miles down the road to clean it up while you home.

    Hanadarko Thanks this.

Actually, I would be doing that....good thought.

Being close to the terminal is a big plus if I opt to do the 7/4-3 program but then
    slip-seat of course.

    Thanks for the thought..

I have talked to several companies that let you take your truck home.

Best to ask the safety dept . ask them and get a letter to keep with you while at home just in case something was to happen to the truck you would be protected . That piece of paper could save your job .

If you live within 50 miles you must leave the truck in the terminal during hometime.

All depends who you drive for.I know werner and swift and few others let you take the truck home.Must companies do.I never took my home, not allow in my city,so I used to park at a local walmart parking lot which was 3 blocks away or 2 minute drive away.

It depends on the company. Most will let you take the truck home unless you are hauling hazmat.
Roehl recruiter told me that the truck has to stay at terminal no exceptions. They said they would hire me but I would have to leave the truck in Gary Indiana and I live just north of Detroit.
    To far to drive.
