I want to draw your attention to the section (48:00 to 1:02:23) of the following video which is a very good illustration of the rigours of the emptiness, the climate and the frontier road conditions of Australia, the world oldest continent, which fed the belief of TNT people
`` If we can do it here --- we can do it anywhere ``.

    The video identification is :

This video is particularly interesting because it gives us the feeling of the Australia wilderness and shows us the road train operation from the inside.

Here an interesting photo showing a truck carrying small containers which was used in Australia during the late 60's/early 70's.

    Overlander's old Photos

Those containers was mainly used to serve outback Australia (Western Australia/Northern Territory) where a scattered population living on a huge territory needed to be supplied with a highly diversified freight in small quantity on a relatively regular period of time. One or two of those containers could be loaded alongside mixed freight like special commodities or even a motor vehicle. The predecessor of those containers have been introduced in late 30's/early 40's by Rudders (Mike2633, look at the Rudders section of my book page 20) which became part of TNT in 1966. Those containers could be used on the Australia coastal shipping service as well as on a flat car or a flatbed truck.

As you can see the PODS System and the highly promoted ABF U-Pack

was not really a new concept when introduced in North-America in late90's.

When I see this photo what it comes to my mind is the following :

Back to the future, go round in circles, identity problem, useless agitation and confusion.

Are all the YRC companies now just going to be Yellow and that’s pretty much it?

In medium and long term it seems it will be the road ahead.

I got married a month and some change ago and for the past 2 months my lawn business that I do outside of trucking had me slammed and I fell behind on my trucking business stuff.
Funny how these things that were once killed off are now coming back.

Yeah, we are all merging into Yellow. Holland, Reddaway, and New Pen are no more. YRC is also dropping the RC and just be Yellow.

Not that my opinion matters. But I am not happy with it. None of my coworkers are happy with it. This is the ultimate sh##storm and this is the first time in a LONG while where I am updating my resume cause this boat is taking on way more water than it can pump out.

I am probably intensely naive for being surprised that the government would be so ####### stupid for dumping $750 Million into our company to keep it afloat

Actually, I take that back. It's only the stupidity of our government to keep this boat afloat.

The bridge is burning and the boat is sinking.

How’s it all going to work? Holland is a regional LTL carrier and YRC is the nation wide long hauler, how do all these separate companies just become 1 now?
