Looking at the picture it's not really that tight. Looks to be a good 12 inches on either side.One of the docks I hit last week 5 times that day has less than 6 inches between the door and wall.Just slow and steady forward is all that is needed.

 

Your mirrors allow you to see along and around the sides of your trailer.
When you are that wide- you can't.

 

Having a guy on each side - hopefully with radios, expands the situational awareness and eases the pressure a great deal I’d imagine.
