I’m based in Atlanta & considering purchasing a truck next year. Trying to get into the tanker world, preferably cryo. Can anyone recommend any good companies? I know Schneider will take on anyone but I did tanker training with them in 2021 & kind of burned that bridge.
Thanks

Why not just get a company driver job pulling cyro? It's the best paying trucking gig there is. Those guys pull in $140k home daily and 2 days off. Seems like most of the big private carrier cyro companies are all company trucks anyways. You live in Atlanta and that opportunity is there.

Post #2 is the easy way to do that....
But...to answer the original qtn:
- Genox
- LGT Transport
- KAG (their "Merchant Gas Group")
- Southern Pines Trucking
Special note: the above is merely a list -- NOT an endorsement.

Some of the above require 2 years previous CDL experience; some only require 1. Obviously...BOTH tanker & hazmat endorsements are required; a TWIC card likely helps, too.
Your MVR needs to be pretty clean, as well.
Most of the above will either be regional...or OTR work (not local, home-daily).

I ran across this in job searches. They don't have anything near me and I'm unwilling to move but if I lived in the Atlanta area here's one I'd be looking at: Truck Driver Jobs | Air Products

Praxair is the only here hiring that I could find. They ask for 3 years experience. I have 2. I work LTL now & gross around $120k with me being near the bottom of the totem pole. I’m getting tired of being a company driver -
Thank you. LGT sent me their pay scale for leasing on. It was disrespectful.

How was LGT's reply disrespectful?
CAUTION: Try not to judge a company based solely on your experience with a recruiter.
That's like deciding Ford, GM...or Toyota is a bad car maker...all because of one encounter with a bad/snarky salesperson.
Talk to that company's drivers...and see what they say. Also: maybe work with another recruiter.
Most of my own experiences with recruiters have not been good.

$1.27 a mile for O/O

Here's a thought: if you came to them with previous cryo experience, from elsewhere--they may well have offered your a better rate.
When I first started driving (for Schneider)--their rates were fairly "disrespectful"...as well.
More recently--at my latest gig (hauling fuel)--things there are MUCH better.
Suggestion: hire on with one of the above-listed 3rd-party carriers--but as a company driver, instead. Learn the cryo ropes, & maintain a good safety record. Talk to the O/O's that are there--& learn what you can from them. Then decide (as an educated, experienced cryo driver) if doing O/O in cryo is really worth all the added headaches.
