Tanker job with no experience?

    I live in the Columbia, SC area. I was curious to know whether anyone knew if there is such a thing as a tanker job with a company with no experience, straight out of school? I already have my CDL and Tanker/HazMat endorsements (Have not completed background check yet). Trying to avoid going OTR due to some health issues in family and needing to be home more often? Thought a company may want to train someone from the start who would stay with company for years to come. Have always wanted to drive tanker.

    Superior Carriers has a terminal in North Charleston, they just hired me fresh out of CDL school with no experience. I live 2.5 hours from the Lakeland, FL terminal. There definitely is such a thing :Tank truck::headbang:

    YRC Holland in Columbia has training program for new drivers.
    Excellent union benefits and health insurance.
    Average pay is $72K.

    To add to this, there are a couple of ltl companies around. Estes has a terminal basically across the road from Williams Brice Stadium, with a training program also. Go gamecocks!

    Do some research on Univar and Brenntag. They are big tanker companies with local work. Also, Loves/Gemini will SOMETIMES hire newbies out of CDL school to haul DEF to truckstops.
