Tanker no recent driving

with out a refresher course..??

i dun't tink so, heck not even many van companies will either.

at one time, many tanker companies REQUIRED at least 10 years experience driving, then it went to 5 years for some.

some schools have like a 40 hour course...one week....surely there is at least one school near you, if not over the state line??

at the end of the course, you get a "certificate of completion" to take with you to your application/interview

 

Not trying to be a wiseacre.....but have you tried calling some in your area?

I was out of the truck for 10 years, and after 31 rejections for "not current", got hired on at #32. I'm pulling corn syrup. Not "top pay", but they make up for it by being there when I need 'em, and outta my face when I don't. Unfortunately they don't have a terminal in your area.

I see that Indian River does, maybe give them a call?

Some carriers are getting desperate, and are taking a second look at old guys and gals getting back on the road now that their kids are grown. Call around, walk around, get your apps out. Good luck.

 

Truckers are in demand at the moment. Companies can't find truckers. The economy is booming. Therefore. No one wants our jobs.

As long as your cdl and med are current. You might find someone without the refresher course. Or at the very least. Will give you a refresher.

That's probably a pretty good job, but you need the patience to do whatever training they require to get back on the road.

 

Abilene Motor Express will probably hire you and put you right on the road with an experienced driver, to get you up to date. They are dry van & refrigerated.

 

I don't know about where you are but around here if you've had a valid cdl for that long and have no serious background issues, tanker or whatever, your hired. Even without recent experience.

 

Schneider Tanker will train you.... they will give you a 3 day refresher, for a 3 month commitment.
