I strap over the tarp even though my company “doesn’t like it”. It keeps the tarps secure and requires fewer bungees. Ya a 2 for 1 and a win win. IMHO it makes securement and tarping easier. Flapping tarps can cause damage too. So it’s your decision.

I don't think CRST drivers can afford tarp straps.

Its a great thing to do it you like spending money on tarps. You can always spot a company driver by this.

Klleetrucking, stwik and Tb0n3 Thank this.

We used large canvas tarps, something on the order of 20 feet by 30 feet each. Three of them went onto a freuhauf for day work in Lowes Lumber or other type of loading. The canvas was treated with a surface close to rubber on one side facing the weather.

In the Ravens it's a one peice tarp for the entire trailer. Up she goes.

Cords were quarter inch woven on the knot side and bungee cords on the other. Sometimes in a texas blow that is really strong, it takes 4 bungees to each tie down to hold everything in addition to straps over the top. Otherwise it gets under the tarp and raised the #### thing to 20 feet before your next bridge. Rip.
