I was considering getting one for use on noisy neighbors and barking dogs or people that give me the finger at traffic lights; on and on for fun.
Some ships, even cruise ships have large ones for deterring pirates. Some pirates jump off their skiffs and into the water to get away from it.
They're silent. Nice to use on some loudmouth in a truck stop restaurant. Watch him jump up from his table screaming and slapping his ears.
