Tennessee I40 Ice and Snow 1.12.18

Heading their early am..any updates?

 

I rolled through there yesterday and it looked like they hadn’t touched a plow to it. I’m guessing it’ll be good today. I dont think it was supposed to snow any more.

 

Sitting on 1-40 few years ago in an ice storm, traffic was at a standstill. Someone came over the cb, "hey here comes a salt shaker", it was a man on the back of a dump truck with a bag of salt and he was spreading it by hand. Now this is Tennessee version of a "salt shaker". When it comes to cleaning the roads in bad weather, Tennessee can join the ranks of states such as PA. IN. and about 40 other states.

There was something wrong with that accident scene video...none of the usual culprits...didn't see a single Fudex, CRE or Swift...spooky

 

Not really expecting much here on the coast of Maine. 45% chance of 1-3" (basically a dusting). Tho Monday the 22nd we are expecting temps of 47F and 3/4" of rain.

 

They were there... still there on Sunday as a matter of fact.

 

They must have been obscured by the mass of other company's trucks...at least it isn't on it's side or merged into the back of another company's trailer...for once
