I'm sure I've pissed numerous people off behind for slowing down for stale green lights, but this is what I'm always thinking will happen if I don't. I don't understand how any trucker can continue to hammer down towards a green light from a half-mile away, especially when the roads are slick. You're not going to be able to stop.

Four wheeler driver bears some of the blame. Always look before pulling into an intersection even if you have green and especially at light changes. That probably isn’t taught any more. I learned it more than 50 years ago. It still holds true to this day. Probably even more so today.
