LOL......now I KNOW alot of you remember this circus act in Fontana. I was with them back in 2008. 2008 Freightliner Columbia with 60k miles sitting there with the rest of the drivers waiting to leave on their runs. Anyone remember the safety guy there? Then there was that pickup truck that would come in honking and holding a pizza box out the window to get our attention. Gotta love that shower building that was on the property too......yeesh! Anyone else have any fond memories of this place?
That wonderful old Fontana terminal........

The one thing I loved about that Interstate yard was the BBQ guy that would stop in pulling his grill with some awesome meat cookin on it.

From what I understand, McKinney owned the Crusty lot and an adjacent lot, then booted Crusty out when McKinney needed to expand parking.
Then there was the safety trainer. He used to believe that the 5th wheel coupling system was perfect and invincible. I proved him to be wrong.
It seems that Volvo had installed many defective 5th wheels that would drop a tractor even after being coupled to a kingpin correctly.
I actually miss their "safety line inspections". This is where you would go directly after entering the yard. An inspector would thoroughly check over your tractor for problems. But drivers weren't penalized for any problems, but rather the equipment was put on a fix it list.
Then there was the sandwich guy. Five bucks for a sub sandwich. 'Twas a good sandwich.
And the bbq guy sold overpriced meat loaded bone chips. I bought from him once. I'm not paying ten bucks for bone chips. -
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

I cant remember his name for the life of me. There was another guy.....skinny, light skinned black dude that took all of our ID photos.....cant remember his name either. All I remember is that a driver wrote something mean about him on the bathroom stall at the Pennsylvania terminal.
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.
