They put me on the dumb simulator. I hate those things. They're so unrealistic, but I get 'er done. Waiting for my pre-assignment which will hopefully take me back west of Indiana. I doubt it though....but whatever.

Great job, DFO! It's good to see you're not afraid to tackle some of these jobs. It can only lead to continued success!
Night Prowler and dieselfuelonly Thank this. -
Back at it again, grabbed a load out of NC today headed to Mississippi. I called in to get an empty task put on me, ask if I can just bobtail to the customer because its right near home, of course not, so they find an empty and I head that way late this morning.
Get there, of course there are no empties. Call again, ask again if I can bobtail, finally they decide to just let me bobtail in.
Grabbed my load and headed south, stopped through the Charlotte OC for fuel and to get a torn mudflap replaced, then made it to the Atlanta OC tonight and found myself a quiet spot out of the way to park and where my APU won't bother anyone.
Truck is running strong, no check engine light issues. We'll see if the fuel economy is where it should be soon. If not at least the DPF is nice and clean and should stay that way with the new doser injector actually doing its job.
450 miles to go to the delivery tomorrow, should be an easy ride. Just grabbed a load off the load board out of AR headed up to Charlotte NC that delivers on the 27th to the 28th, so I should be able to get it there on the 27th and bobtail home and be able to spend Thanksgiving with my family! Then I'll head back out on the 29th and hopefully grab a nice load to keep me busy through the weekend. -
Love reading your threads Diselfuelonly, Day to Day adventures was an excellent read - felt like i was right there with you and think you went from a boy to a man in those 10 months (Was it you that was playing with "Legos" your first couple trips out ? ) LOL. Not a big fan of the "Lease purchase" thing, but what do i know - i am pulling for you and cant wait to read your stories and adventures on it.
I am so glad you have some Mechanical skills, that will save you a lot of grief and money.
2 words -"Card board", makes a better "Creeper" than a creeper --you may already know that though.
Also, you can clear "Trouble codes" in cars by disconnecting the battery for 5 - 10 minutes, I am not sure if it works in a big truck- but i assume it does (I think that's what i read you were going to the dealer for ? ) -

Thanks man! Hey now, don't knock my Lego jeep. it has been riding with me since sitting in the receiver waiting to deliver my very first load back in February... lol.
I hear ya on the cardboard creeper - I have a sheet of plywood that I use most of the time. My creeper has big wheels on it so it rolls pretty well on the hard-pack gravel, but unfortunately where I was working on my truck was in a softer spot that hardly ever gets driven on.
I have a little device called a ScanGauge that can read codes and clear them (I mainly use it to watch my turbo boost and engine load when climbing hills to choose the right gear and help save on fuel), but the parameter that had to be reset by Cummins was something that I couldn't do without whatever software Cummins uses to interface with the ECM.
Just made my delivery to Walmart down here in Brookhaven MS. Man, I swear the last 200 miles of my trip the skies did nothing but open up and dump rain the ENTIRE time. Then it started getting dark and all the nervous 4 wheelers came out and made life absolutely miserable, trying to dodge the idiots doing 45MPH in a 70MPH zone in a passing lane with no lights on MY GOD. After my delivery I quickly parked it for the night, its just not worth the risk of dealing with these morons.
Tomorrow I'll head up to Arkansas to grab my load headed to Charlotte. It'll be another heavy one, so hopefully no issues with getting it scaled out. It'll be interesting to see if there has been an improvement in my fuel economy... its hard to say by just watching the fuel gauge because who knows how accurate this thing actually is. Lets just hope its doing better than 5MPG like it did on that trip up to Delaware LOL.Grijon, Kutina and "Hang - Man" Thank this. -
dieselfuelonly,
I truly wish you luck. However, I predict that we will soon read on here how you made the mistake of going O/O. It doesn't even matter what the reason is. It has happened so many times before. Even the SNI company driver wages and benefits looks sub-par to me at best. Who knows, maybe you will be different.
Again, good luck. -
"LEGO JEEP" ssshhhhh --your a truck driver --get that thing off your dash -and put it in the sleeper with your "Teddy Bear" LOL JK. ROLL ON and keep us on the edge of our seats! -
Why waste your breath wishing him luck if his outcome is failure? Congratulations on your wedding. However, I predict you'll be divorced shortly.
