Fifteen bucks apiece? It's a steal at that price! I can see the line forming at the check-out now... :biggrin_25523:

we put buckets over the stacks when the rear seal blows on turbos. that way when we drive to the steam bay it doesn't rain oil. people tend to get mad when their cars have oil spots all over them..

I thought a lot of things were cool when I was sixteen that I realized later weren't.

You mean you actually were 16 once?:biggrin_25523:

FWIW, I'm a bit older than 16 and I still think they are cool. Just not very many of them around.

    Ducks Thanks this.

A fur piece ago...Why I remember me and paw headin' into town on the old buckboard and pikin' up supplies at the general store...When we got home I had to ride the fence line and then do my chores befur ma rang the dinner bell and it was time to run on up to the house fer vittles!

FWIW, I'm a bit older than 16 and I still think they are cool. Just not very many of them around. [/QUOTE]

actually a good spring will take care of the rattle. The rattle is caused because there isnt enough exhaust pressure to keep them set in one position. Yet if you use the spring you might bbe cutting back on the reason for the straight pipes.

You should see the fireworks show after a chimney swift builds a nest in the stacks! Or the smell of cooked chick! And those flappers are nice when you don't park next to me when I'm asleep!

They are not used as much anymore because they did not work that well.
They would still get some water in the stack, even when using those. And when you use them, and have water get in, it will spray on the truck just as much. More of it actually hits the truck using those.
Had them on many old Mack's over the years. Also they will rust at the pivot point. Most of them are galvanized, but the hinge pivot is not.

    Ducks Thanks this.
