They did it 2 more times today. I didn't pickup but voicemails was basically the same exact thing. Just name of the "recruiter" was different.

 

I got to choose my teammate and already knew them at my terminal. It was pretty good overall but it was a temporary assignment. I am back running solo.

Airgas has a 3w on 1w off position and they pay you during your 1w off...looks to cap at $100k last I checked. Though they claim to pay extra for working on "off" days.

 

Never driven tank before, some more questions:

I've heard somewhere to go 10mph below marked curve speed signs...how true is that? Like if 4 cloverleaf off-ramp is 30mph y'all get down to 20mph?

What y'all using for navigation for cryo work? Does company provide navigation apps/devices?

That with a tanker full of a very dense liquid,the physics of momentum, surge and gravity has you cornering or turning at a lower than posted speed?
It's 100% true. And preached regularly.

I just used a stand alone Garmin dezl. Saved over 400 of my stops in it. More for eta than directions.
Bought it in 2011 out of pocket.

Our last eld had navigation built in but I just kept using my Garmin

 

Thats airgas nitrogen services, and I would stay far away from that. You have to be in the clique to make the money (125k+). If not you might make 85k for the yr if you stay that long.

 

Posted speed limits on exit ramps are for cars. So if you don't slow down 10 to 15 mph below the limit before the ramp. Then you will be seriously injured or dead when the ambulance arrives.

#### know arse all driver took a ramp at full speed. And honestly I don't know how he made it after seeing the truck in person. But he had some bad head trauma. Was im the hospital for 14 months. Then rehab for 9 more, he's home now. But his wife said he will never be the same. But to think that wouldn't have happened if he would have got down to 10mph in that curve. Now everytime I train or give safety class. I show pics of the truck and talk about the dangers of this job.

Ppl might have gps's but they don't use them. Gps's are just like phones touch it and your unemployed!!!

 

Sometimes even slower than that, depending on the load, weather, etc. Pulling a tanker through a curve is no different than driving a race car or even a regular four-wheeler: slow down to a safe speed before you enter the curve, roll into the throttle, and gently accelerate through the curve.
