Wish I had your problems. I got called in at 1200... did five stops and three pickups... Took a 30 min "restroom break" on the clock and still managed to clock out with less than 6 hours.

One of the assistant managers says to me today "How did those two schools go screw up your whole day?"
    I said "yes indeed."
Actually it wasn't that awful it was funny that they knew it was a monkey wrench.

Hell, I was 3 minutes shy of 12 today, with only interline freight and 11 deliveries.

At first I misread this. I glossed over the word "go" and read that question in a more accusatory tone.

My liftgate crapped out today and had to hand unload two stops. That's certainly one way to screw up one's entire day.

No kidding lift gate problems were such a problem at the beer company that they made a policy of nobody leaves the yard until you pre trip your lift gate.

I suspect the problem was corrosion inside the plug. I'll find out tomorrow.

This is when you're glad to have one that tucks, vs one that folds up behind the door!

You always know you're going to get burned when you turn your route around to accommodate a large pickup with a good shipper. Who is well to one end of the route. Only to have another good shipper call in a pick, after you have left their town.
And they happen to be at the other end of the route. At least we pass them almost daily. Unlike the first pick. That I rerouted for.
They are far enough out that we don't always pass by them.
Could have done both, if I had been in a big truck, instead of a straight truck.

HI Mike, I am new to the site and I was doing a search for Motor Cargo because I worked for them back in the day and came across your post which I know is almost a year old now, but yeah we had refers there, some were real old and a little trashed, but they started purchasing new ones, along with new dry vans, tractors and even new con gears, they did all this modernization over a couple years span and then sold to Overnite for whatever reason, then of course the UPS thing happened and the rest is history.

    Mike2633 Thanks this.
