That's just one of many over the years. I've had more encounters with bad apples than I have with those just out to do their job. That one there was just the straw that broke this camel's back, so to speak.

Anne Ferro clarified a few years ago truckers could log off duty while being (un)loaded, even sitting in the driver's seat.

Is it for sure we have to use elog? I know bull haulers and ag haulers are exempt for 90 days. My dispatch told me some states were not in forcing them until 90 days are up and that only seems reasonable because I guess they are thinking they might not work...you think?

Try finding that clarification these days. It seems they (FMCSA) are making it really hard to find, thus the confusion from Indiana.

Just read in the news today that Old Dominion Freight Lines has been issued 90 day emempt front ELD logging. Let's see how the list looks now.
    Emempt carriers:
    Old Dominion Freight Lines
    (And I expect haulers alike)
    Livestock haulers
    Meat/produce (etc) hauler's
1999 truck's and older (exempt always)
    Glider kit trucks (exempt always)
What kind of law is this? Why can't we all be exempt?

    TallJoe and whoopNride Thank this.

They have their fleet on AOBRD's and asked for an extension on upgrading to ELD's as it would disrupt their fleet. Not sure what the problem was, my fleet upgraded to ELD from AOBRD last summer no problems.

Idaho has been shutting down drivers for showing off duty at a shipper/receiver for a long time but they will tell you straight out that if you are in the sleeper at a dock then it is legal to log sleeper.

Kind of stating the obvious ain't it everyone knows it, they've just stated the legal precedent for it.
