I got a better deal, permits and escorts are on credit and LS pays.
I get paid on Tuesday after I deliver, even if the customer never pays, plus I get35% upfront, no cost. Well they do charge me $1.75 to put it on my card.

 

Then telling him you’d charge 6 grand is a little disingenuous. I wish everyone would talk TTT numbers, but I guess it’s my bad for just assuming.

 

Those are huge benefits to consider compared to running under your own authority.

 

I have my own authority, and I think about signing onto Landstar at least once a week.

 

Most brokers will pay 50% up front if that’s what you want. Permits services will either bill a CC or you have an escrow account. Most pilot cars will either bill you or take a CC. You can usually get a discount if you pay on delivery. I don’t really see LS with the rose colored glasses that some do.

 

My last escort bill was over $23,000, sure wasn’t going to pay on delivery.

in 2020, I spent almost $700k for 3 trucks on pilots and they were all paid at the end of every run.

My load was for a defense contractor, at least 90 days to pay.

 

it was a specialized deal. Really just pointing out that it can be done in more than one way.

It was in my interest to pay at the time and way I did. If you want to work with the best possible team - sometimes you have to pay for it.

The money was very good, but it was a very long year.
