Has anyone tried the LMR400 or LMR600 coax? If so, is it actually worth the price?
I saw LMR900 too but that was far beyond overkill at close to $100 for a 6" jumper, similar to a couple fancy named types I've seen popping up.
Looks nice & chunky but I'm wondering if you're really just paying a ton more for double the poly insulation & maybe a thicker jacket.
One looked almost the same diameter as the PL259 connector itself.
The latest & greatest or just average & overpriced?

I use LMR240 Ultraflex for mobile.

EDIT: After further thoughts, there maybe some members who use the LMR400 coax, but the LMR600 and LMR900 would be overkill for CB and Ham radio.Last edited: Jun 4, 2023

Once I shrunk that to stay put, one jumper lost the pl259 entirely. I should've checked if it was even crimped but it was a bear of a session also trying some right angle f to m adapters whose pins de-soldered at the 90° joint once 200w was applied.
The spare jumper (same make) between the radio/meter that initially caused the concern had the pin snap off in the meter although I was gentle with it & pulled straight back by the barrel nut once unthreaded.
I may have thrown all of it out (my 18ft also lost the brass pin) but I'll see if I saved any to check for the assembler. He had a really huge eBay store only selling coax when I bought it (akin to a current like WiFi Expert) but can't seem to find him any longer. -

I like the 240 ultraflex for a big truck and the 400 ultraflex for my personal vehicle
It isn't a question of kilowatts as much as the amount of copper in the outer shield bonding to your sheet metal roof.GGALLIN1776 Thanks this.
