Starting out the year with a load to Denver from Wilmington. Came in at 0800 to load out early and hit the road.

B service was needed so I went shopping for some last minute items while that gets done. Later I'm shooting the breeze with the guy doing preloads and he tells me a ship came in so I should call to see if they can load me.

Made the call and they're busy unloading a ship so now I'm going over there around 1300. A little television and some coffee as I kill time before starting my day. May just do lunch before I start my pretrip.

Patience is what I'm learning every day. Relish the days when everything goes as planned and deal with those that don't. Don't sweat it.

I've got 1770 loaded miles ahead of me. No need to be worked up for any of it.

Starting the trip with some hourly pay that you don't have to log on duty is always a good thing. Have a good trip.

Closed it down earlier than I normally would tonight. Want a good night's rest before gettin' after it tomorrow.

Outside of the truck service and the ship being unloaded, I had a coolant leak. Of course the shop didn't have what we needed so I loaded 3 gallons to carry along. It's just a constant drip. I had the choice of waiting until morning or carrying extra coolant. No way I'd make my delivery if I waited until morning, whch would have turned into after lunch, so off I went.

Currently taking an early 10 just north of Columbia on the 26. If things went as planned I'd be in Tennessee right now. Maybe next time it'll be smooth trucking as planned.

1550 miles and 60 hours remaining to get to Denver. Not a problem...... we'll see.

Yes, I am carrying chains as required by Colorado. We, (Superior), don't drive if chains are needed, but we do comply with all codes and laws.

See y'all out there. Be safe.

You might be able to get that leak fixed at a TA/Petro on a 10 hour break. Superior has standing accounts with them.

Always need to carry extra coolant anyway for in-transit heat loads.

Rolled 600 on the nose to Illinois. Just finishing up a 10. 957 miles away from delivery. Today I'm aiming at a Pilot just over 640 miles away. I have my doubts on getting that far today but will shoot for it anyway.

Engine light came on around 30 miles ago. Oil, coolant, belts, etc are all good to go. Was told this is a common thing with the Mack. Will get the vehicle checked at the next terminal I make it to.

Coolant is holding up well. The drip has slowed, which our mechanic said it might do.

Rolled 650 miles today. OK, 650.9 to be exact. Will stay at a flying J near by where I unload tomorrow.

I have a 6 or so hour drive and then unloading tomorrow. the Flying J is about 7 miles from where I deliver. Will grab a shower there. In laws will come have lunch with me around 1330 and then I'll rack out until heading off to wherever is next.

I'm currently at a Loves, which I rarely use. No points and paying for their shower is silly. I'll take the free one tomorrow.

Nothing out of the ordinary today. Easy sailing all day. Made it to the truck stop with 22 minutes to spare. It was the middle of the day, so I had ample parking. The sun is setting so the solar powered truckers are starting to fill the place up.

I like to leave between 0100 and 0300 whenever possible just for that reason. I try to position just outside of large cities to avoid the early rush hour too.

No, it doesn't always work out, but when it does, it makes for a good day trucking.
